Great books to read to a 5 year old

These books are on the dining room table and we’re reading them during lunch or dinner, when we can talk about them. We can read them over and over again and talk about different pages, what those mean and what happens. It is a great way to start the conversation on racism, or to help my child sort out their feelings like anxiety. The empathy book is a lot harder for my kiddo but I think it’s a good start for them to learn and think about what empathy means and how to be empathetic. I can’t recommend these enough.

A long awaited buy

I’ve been aware of these books for years, but never could justify the price for one book. However, my 10 year old niece asked me about anxiety and I immediately thought of the Kids book about Anxiety. I had planned to just buy the ones, but saw the bundle as decided to go for it. I’m so glad I did. Along with my 5 year old nephew we’ve read Empathy and Anxiety and had some valuable discussion around both. I like how the books are literary nonfiction and include some questions. I wish there were tips to have a productive conversation, but overall - great buy. I plan on stocking up on more for my classroom!
